Project Highlights:

The Western University Interdisciplinary Research Building in London, Ontario is an institutional roofing project completed by Empire Roofing Corporation in partnership with EllisDon Corporation.

This project included a high-performance roofing assembly for a major university research facility, along with a dedicated green roof component that supports the building’s sustainable design goals. Empire’s scope included a modified bitumen roofing system, insulation, sheet metal flashings, and related roofing accessories, with additional pricing included for the green roof and leak detection system.

The green roof component included approximately 630 square feet of vegetated roofing using a LiveRoof Ontario modular green roof system, adding both environmental value and architectural interest to the finished building.

This project highlights Empire’s experience delivering commercial roofing, institutional roofing, flat roofing, modified bitumen roofing, and green roof systems for complex public-sector and educational facilities across Ontario.
